Our Mission
Swimmingly: One-on-One for Exceptional Needs, formerly Manitoba SwimAbility, is a non-profit, charitable organization that aims to improve the lives of youth with exceptional needs through affordable and accessible one-on-one swimming and water safety instruction.
Our Vision
All youth in Manitoba with exceptional needs are given the opportunity to learn to swim in an inclusive environment, thus reducing water related accidents.
Why We Exist
A 2002 study by the CDC found that drowning is still the second-leading cause of injury-related death in children.

Significantly, disabled children are ten times likelier to suffer from a submersion injury than the general population.

According to the Canadian Participation and Activity Limitations Survey, 26% of children with special needs live in families below the low-income cut-off. While private lessons at a municipal pool can cost $360, we bridge this gap by offering instruction at a rate affordable to all.
Traditional group lessons are often not suited to children with exceptional needs who may have shorter attention spans or require personalized supervision. We fill the slice of the population most marginalized by the standard structure.
